Most of our churches aren’t as friendly as we think they are. And even if they were, friendliness in itself is not enough. Christian hospitality is a quietly powerful way of life that infuses the Bible, and it can infuse your church as well.
This module’s foundation is based on the biblical admonition in Hebrews 13:2: “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.” This module shows that it doesn’t require big programs or lots of money, but it does require great care. And like every other aspect of our discipleship, hospitality needs to be taught, modeled, reminded, and encouraged. How your church treats its guests sends a spiritual message: we welcome others as Christ has welcomed us.
Don’t tell your Pastor, but an uncommonly warm welcome is probably more important than the sermon!
“E³ Ministry Group has led us through a process to identify our priorities and focus our work and resources. It has generated excitement as we continue our journey with Jesus.”
